Terms of Purchase
General
These terms of purchase apply to private individuals and businesses purchasing from Tärnsjö Garveri AB’s online store (https://tarnsjogarveri.com). You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase from us.
These terms of purchase are effective as of January 1, 2021.
Ordering

Orders are placed on our website tarnsjogarveri.com. When you place an order, you accept our terms of purchase and our processing of your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy. You commit to fulfilling the agreement by accepting it; we commit to fulfilling the agreement by sending an order confirmation or by dispatching goods.
Communications
When you place your order, an email with the subject line “Tärnsjö Garveri – We have received your order!” is automatically sent as an order confirmation. If you notice anything that appears incorrect in that email, please contact us as soon as possible, preferably by email to webshop@tarnsjogarveri.se, and include your order number in the subject line.
When we pack and arrange shipping for your goods, you will receive a message with the subject “Shipping Information from Tärnsjö Garveri AB Webshop.” After this point, you can no longer make changes to your order.
Depending on the delivery method, you may receive additional information from the shipping company, such as where and when your package can be collected.
Product Information
General product information is provided on each product’s page. General information such as care instructions is included with the product upon delivery but may also be presented on dedicated pages on the website. Information is provided with reservation for typographical errors.
Prices
All prices are stated in Swedish kronor (SEK) including VAT. Prices are provided with reservation for typographical errors.
A shipping cost may apply depending on where the goods are to be delivered and which shipping method you have selected. The shipping options available for your delivery address and their prices are displayed in the shopping cart and on the checkout page.
Shipping and Delivery
Normally, an order is dispatched within 3-5 business days after the order is placed if all items are in stock. Items that are not discontinued may be ordered even if they are not in stock; we will then inform you of the expected time before we manufacture or receive the product in stock if this is not stated on the product’s page.
Delivery time varies depending on shipping method, destination address, and workload. Please refer to the respective shipping company’s website for standard delivery times.
Information about deviating delivery times may be displayed in one of the following locations: header, footer, product pages, shopping cart, or checkout page, for example during holidays.
In cases where we offer free shipping, we have the discretion to choose the shipping company and shipping method we find most suitable.
Tärnsjö Garveri is responsible for the goods until they are handed over to the customer or delivered to the customer’s specified address. The customer is responsible for any import duties and local taxes.
Uncollected Packages
If the customer does not collect their package within the time specified by the shipping company, it will be returned. We will then charge a fee consisting of the shipping company’s freight and fees plus 250 kronor including VAT as an administrative fee for the additional handling this entails for us.
Transport Damage
Check that the package is not damaged when it arrives. If it is damaged, ask the agent/shipping company to make a note of the damage upon delivery. If there is significant damage or you suspect the contents are damaged, you may refuse to accept the package due to the damage.
If you have collected a package and your goods are damaged, contact us within 2 days for visible damage or 14 days for concealed damage by email at webshop@tarnsjogarveri.se or call us at 0292-707 50.
If you do not inform us of transport damage within the time specified above, you forfeit the right to make a claim.
Payment
The customer may choose between different payment methods at checkout. Which payment methods are available depends on the customer’s address.
Payments made through Klarna Checkout are subject to their terms, which can be read on their website. https://www.klarna.com/se/villkor/
Returns
As a consumer (private individual), you may withdraw from your purchase in accordance with the Distance Contracts Act (2005:59), or make a complaint regarding goods in accordance with the Consumer Sales Act (1990:932). As a business, you may make a complaint regarding goods in accordance with the Sale of Goods Act (1990:931) or the International Sales Act (1987:822).
Exchange
If you wish to exchange your item, please follow the instructions below.
- As a customer, you place a new order for the desired item in our webshop yourself.
- Contact our customer service by email at webshop@tarnsjogarveri.se to receive a prepaid return label to send back your item. Please include your order number in the email.
- When we have received your returned item, we will make an adjustment to your payment corresponding to the amount for the item you returned. If you have paid by invoice, please pause it with Klarna until we have made the adjustment.
Tärnsjö Garveri covers the cost of return shipping.
Right of Withdrawal
Consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date they receive their order. You must notify us and return the item to us within these 14 days if you wish to withdraw from your purchase. Products you wish to return must be in unchanged condition and the packaging must be undamaged for you to receive a full refund. If the product or packaging has been altered or damaged, we will make a deduction for diminished value.
Contact us by email at webshop@tarnsjogarveri.se if you wish to withdraw from your purchase and return your item. When returning, the product should be as well packaged as when we sent it to you. The buyer is responsible for the return shipping cost of 150 SEK including VAT. This fee is automatically deducted upon refund. For exchanges, Tärnsjö Garveri covers the cost of return shipping.
A personally customized or specially manufactured item is not covered by the right of withdrawal.
An item sold in existing condition is not covered by the right of withdrawal.
Complaints
You should inspect your goods when they are delivered to ensure you have received the correct items and that they are free from defects. Check the goods regularly to ensure no damage has occurred. Do not use a product if it is damaged, as this may worsen the damage or lead to injury to persons or property.
If you wish to make a complaint regarding an item, contact Tärnsjö Garveri AB within a reasonable time after the defect was discovered or should have been discovered. Complaints cannot be made after more than 3 years as a consumer, or after more than 2 years as a business.
We will primarily attempt to remedy any defects through repair. If it is not possible to repair the item or if we determine that it is not worth repairing, we will offer a replacement item, price reduction, or cancellation of the purchase.
After you have contacted us and provided a description of the defect, we may request additional information, such as a more detailed description or photographs. This is to simplify the process. We may also need to agree on how the item should be delivered to us or how we can remedy the defect to your satisfaction. Normally, the item should be delivered to us within 14 days after we have agreed on how this should be done. If the item is shipped, it should be well packaged.
When we have received the item, we will inspect it. If the complaint is approved, we will remedy the defect and cover the shipping costs. If it does not involve an original defect, we will charge the customer for shipping costs and an inspection fee. Depending on the nature of the defect, we may offer repair; we will then provide the customer with a quote.
If an item is sold in existing condition, a limited right of complaint applies. Consumers may make a complaint if the item is in worse condition than the customer could have expected. As a business, the condition of the item must be significantly worse than the customer could have expected for a complaint to be valid.
A Unique Product in Living Natural Material
At Tärnsjö Garveri, we take pride in crafting products in a traditional manner from leather we produce ourselves through vegetable tanning. This means our products have natural variation in appearance and may contain natural characteristics that in other products might be classified as defects. Our tanning process yields a living material that changes depending on how it is cared for and what it is exposed to. It is entirely natural for the leather to change its appearance over time, for example through color changes from sunlight or simply from handling. Therefore, take good care of your product so it can develop a beautiful patina. Read our advice on leather care and contact us if you need more information. We reserve the right to decline a complaint if it concerns natural variations or changes, or if a product has been damaged due to normal wear, improper handling, or neglect.
Refund
If you have an unpaid invoice with Klarna, you must extend the due date with them yourself. When we have received and inspected the returned item, we will refund the amount to the card or account you paid with within 30 days.
Disputes
If a dispute arises, you may file a complaint with the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN). Our policy is to follow their recommendations.
Force Majeure
Tärnsjö Garveri cannot be held liable for inconveniences arising from events beyond our control, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, lightning strikes, interruptions in public communications, power outages, interruptions in internet communications, general shortages of raw materials or supplies, war, riots, civil unrest, illness, import/export restrictions, legislation, government decisions, industrial action or other labor disruptions, fire, explosion, or other accidents.
